Fishing Fair 2022

 Tuineje presents its sporting events for 2022 with the return of the Deep Sea Fishing Open

The Covid pandemic has disrupted the agenda of major events, but the progress of vaccination and the capacity control regulations are allowing it to be resumed. Thus, Tuineje has presented at the Fitur International Tourism Fair the posters of the five major sporting events that the municipality will host this year 2022.

The return of the International Deep-Sea Fishing Open stands out, with its twenty-sixth edition to be held from September 7 to 10. "We are especially excited to present an event like the Fishing Open, which is deeply rooted in Gran Tarajal and has international repercussions and participation," highlights the Mayor Esther Hernández, who adds that "Tuineje has become a benchmark for the quality of sporting events, which is also a tourist attraction".

The Councilor for Sports, Christian Cabrera, has advanced the dates on which the major sporting events of the municipality will be held "organized between the Tuineje City Council and different clubs and companies, which are committed to competitions that stand out for their high level of participation , the performance of the athletes themselves and the natural environment in which they perform".

On April 23, the obstacle course `Bestial Race´ is held in Las Playitas. And from September 25 to October 2 the Half Marathon des Sables Fuerteventura.

TV Film Crew

 Incase any owners are wondering what was going on at Vista Mar on Wednesday the 12th of January, a TV film crew from a UK channel called "A Place in the Sun",were filming a property that is for sale and the surrounding area on VM, for one of their program's, to be shown sometime in the near future! 

New gym equipment

 A rowing machine and some bar bell weights have now been installed in the gymnasium, Please treat them with respect and may I remind you that the equipment is for the gym, not for personal use at home!

It will take a few days before the rowing machine has power.

CV19 Alert Level Update 30th Oct 2021

 The Governing Council has approved this Thursday the review of health alert levels after the report of the Minister of Health, Blas Trujillo. The result of this is that Fuerteventura drops to level 2 and Gran Canaria to level 1 due to the improvement of its epidemiological indicators. In this way, the well-known level semaphore is as follows: Tenerife and Fuerteventura, level 2; Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, level 1.

This change will take place at 00:00 this Friday, October 1 after the publication of the well-known traffic light on the website of the Ministry of Health.

Improvement of epidemiological indicators

With respect to Fuerteventura, the report includes that in the evaluation of September 23, the island presented an incipient improvement in transmission indicators with a downward trend that has been maintained in the last 11 days. The rates of IA7d and at 14d have been decreasing, with an average percentage decrease in the rate of IA7d compared to that of 14d from 20 per story, remaining at medium risk levels in the last 7 days.

The occupation of beds on the hospital ward in the last two weeks has varied from low to very low risk, keeping between 0 and 4 occupied conventional beds and between 0 and 1 occupied ICU beds (very low risk level).

For all these reasons, the reduction to alert level 2 is proposed, closely observing the evolution of the indicators in case there were any changes that would lead to a potential rise in level.

For its part, Gran Canaria presented level 1 indicators according to the CISNS criteria in the evaluation of September 23, but the two weeks required to verify the stabilization of an evolution towards the reduction of the risk of transmission and the impact had not elapsed. in hospital care.

In these two weeks, the IA7d rates and at 14d have been decreasing, with an average percentage decrease of the IA7d rate compared to that of 14d of 30 percent. The occupation of beds on the hospital floor has been changing in the context of low risk and the occupation in ICUs shows a downward evolution in this period. For all these reasons, a reduction to alert level 1 is proposed.

The weekly report of the General Directorate of Public Health reflects that "in the whole of the Autonomous Community between September 22 and 28, 578 new cases of Covid have been reported, which represents a decrease of around 9 percent in the daily average of cases reported in relation to the previous week ".

The average 7-day cumulative incidence rate in the Autonomous Community as a whole and in the islands decreases, by around 13.5 percent compared to the previous week. The greatest decrease is observed on the island of Fuerteventura. In general, therefore, the trend is decreasing in the last 15 days.

The daily average of the IA14-day rate decreases to a greater or lesser extent in all the islands and, therefore, also in the Autonomous Community as a whole (18 percent), and continues to be at medium risk since August 30; only El Hierro, La Palma and La Gomera are at low or very low risk for this indicator.

Regarding the indicators of care pressure, it should be noted that the number of conventional beds occupied by Covid patients decreased by 23 percent compared to the previous week, with a daily average of 127 occupied beds (3 percent occupancy, low risk) . The number of occupied ICU beds continues and consolidates the decline that began five weeks ago.

The number of daily deaths also decreased with respect to last week from 2 to 1 daily deaths on average. In total this last week there were 7 deaths, 5 in Tenerife and 2 in Gran Canaria.

The median age of all people hospitalized for coronavirus in the last 14 days is 72 years, increasing 6.5 years compared to the previous evaluation. The median age of the people admitted to the ICU in the last 14 days is 60.5 years.

Vaccination and hospitalizations

Of the 47 people admitted to conventional beds in the last two weeks, 48.9 percent did not have the complete vaccination schedule. Seventy-five percent of the people admitted to critical care units during the last two weeks had not received the complete vaccination schedule. In addition, 47.4 percent of people admitted for Covid and diagnosed in the last 14 days had no previous pathologies, this percentage increases in unvaccinated patients in whom 70 percent had no other known pathologies.

The cumulative incidence rate of coronavirus cases in the last week is 5.2 times higher in the population that has not received any dose of vaccine compared to the rate in the population that has received the full regimen.

In addition, there is a gradient in the rate of IA7d between vaccinated, one-dose, and unvaccinated people. Thus, while the AI7d rate in the unvaccinated population is of medium risk (69.3 cases / 105 inhab), it is 26.5 in those who have only received one dose and 13.4 among people with a complete regimen, risk very low.

Update CV19 Outbreaks

 Health has notified this Wednesday a total of 11 new outbreaks on the island in the last week, three more than in the previous one. Seven of them are framed within vulnerable groups and in this case they are related "directly to the arrival of cayucos or boats with positives on board", another in hospitality with 11 affected people and the remaining three are defined as "mixed".

In the rest of the Archipelago, 120 new outbreaks have been reported, which represents a decrease compared to those reported seven days ago 141 and a very significant decrease compared to 14 days ago, which totaled 176. This decrease is in line with the decrease in cumulative incidence (AI) in the Islands and decrease in daily cases.

To the 131 new outbreaks in the Archipelago, are added those that are being monitored, which are 67 counting those that have been closed and those that are added from the previous week. In total, the new outbreaks add up to 613 cases, a decrease from 56 cases to the 669 notified last week.

Of these, 69 have occurred on the island of Gran Canaria (five less than the previous week); 45 in Tenerife (three less than last week); three in Lanzarote; one in La Gomera and one in El Hierro. There has also been an outbreak of five people in a prison in Gran Canaria.

By areas, 55 outbreaks are family related, all of them related to different addresses. In this sense, it should be noted that the trend of outbreaks with fewer associated cases continues and most of them have fewer than 5 people.

Family outbreaks are followed in number by those linked to socially vulnerable groups with 21, of which 19 are directly related to the arrival of boats or boats with positives on board.

There are 13 labor outbreaks and they are distributed among construction, catering, trade and hospitality companies, while 7 outbreaks are found in the health and social health fields.

The rest of the outbreaks up to 131 are defined as mixed where work, social and family environments are mixed.

Of the outbreaks being monitored, one of the cargo ships notified last week has gone from 12 to 19 infected; that of the beauty center in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has gone from 4 people to 10 infected; and that of the Amavir Socio-Health Center has not grown, staying in the initial 8 infections.

CAAF Noise

 CAAF installs absorbent acoustic screens at the Gran Tarajal plant

The Consortium of Water Supply to Fuerteventura (CAAF) has completed the installation of acoustic absorption screens in the Gran Tarajal water treatment plant. In this way, the CAAF responds to a neighborhood demand, as a preventive and corrective measure with the aim of avoiding possible inconvenience to neighboring homes.

Although the desalination plant was once located in a residential-free zone, residential buildings have been built in the area over time. For this reason, noise absorption screens have been installed.

From this moment on, the pertinent sonometry studies will be carried out to guarantee the effective reduction of noise pollution.

Eight outbreaks detected in Fuerteventura, one of them in a nightlife in Pájara

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands notified this Wednesday a total of eight outbreaks in Fuerteventura. In the total calculation of the Archipelago, 184 have been notified, which is almost a hundred less than the previous week.

The total of the outbreaks in the Islands adds up to 979 cases, also far from the 1,352 of the previous week. The island with the highest number of outbreaks is Gran Canaria with 89, followed by Tenerife with 76, Lanzarote with 8 and 3 in La Palma.

By area in which they have occurred, 91 are family outbreaks, most of them from different homes; 57 are social shoots; 20 work with family ramifications in most of them; 10 in socially vulnerable groups; two health outbreaks; two of a sports nature, one educational and one socio-sanitary.

The most notable new outbreak is the one detected in a nightlife in Pájara that has six people infected.

In addition to the new outbreaks, 48 ​​old outbreaks are still being monitored in the Canary Islands. One of them, also in a nightlife venue in Pájara, has grown from 19 to 37 people affected.

More than 70 percent of the outbreaks this week in the Islands have between three and five people associated and only 15 outbreaks exceed the number of 10 affected, most of them from socially vulnerable groups such as the migrant group or admitted to centers for minors .

Family and social gatherings

Given the proliferation of social and family outbreaks, which together account for 87.08 percent of the total outbreaks reported this week, the Ministry of Health wants to emphasize the importance of strictly following prevention measures against Covid (use of the mask, correct hand hygiene, ventilation of rooms and safety distance) in family gatherings and with friends, both at homes and in catering establishments or accommodation facilities.

In this summer season, family and social gatherings, trips and celebrations such as weddings, baptisms and birthdays are very common, so it is recommended to reduce the risk of contagion, complying with the capacity in these meetings and, as far as possible, avoid this type of celebration until the incidence of the pandemic in the Canary Islands is reduced.

VM Update August 2021

 As it is not possible to fix a date for the next VM AGM due to Cov19 restrictions I have posted an update of things going on here, in VM at the moment.

The maintenance staff continue to paint the apartment terraces once again.

Antonio, the Presedent has managed to get a court order for repayment of the deposit for work on the pool that was supposed to happen here when the person ran off with the money, before Antonio became president.

The person pays a small amount at various stages until it is all repaid.

The accounts are looking a lot more healthy now with savings and good organisation by Antonio. With this in mind, it may be possible to give owners a rebate at the end of the year in the form of a free month payment of community fees, unless some emergency or unforseen problem occurrs.

A request for more gym  training weights was received and they are in the process of being purchased in due course.
