Opportunity Fair - July 10th - 12th

The Association of Merchants La Gavia organizes with the collaboration of the Municipality of Tuineje and the Cabildo of Fuerteventura the twelfth edition of the Opportunity Fair on July 10, 11 and 12

A fair that is adapted to sanitary security measures by COVID-19, so the fair on the street is replaced by offers directly from participating businesses. Through the website  www.asociacionlagavia.com  or on its Facebook page, the shops participating in this fair can be consulted.

The shops will open during Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with discounts of up to 70% in the more than 20 stores participating in the initiative.

In addition, for purchases from 10 euros will be given an entry for the drive-in sessions that will be held on Friday and Saturday. In total there will be two sessions every day, starting at 8:30 p.m. on the esplanade of the Gran Tarajal dock.

During the presentation of the initiative, the president of the La Gavia association, Mile Vidic, pointed out that the objective is to "energize Gran Tarajal and boost consumption in town shops to reactivate commercial activity after the unemployment that we have suffered. All the security measures required by the current situation have been taken, so that we can combine the limitations of this moment with the development of activities such as this fair ”

The mayor of Tuineje, Esther Hernández, has underlined the commitment to local commerce, “last week we presented the campaign to promote consumption in the shops in our municipality, today we are presenting this fair of opportunities that will serve to encourage our fabric commercial".

The Councilor for Commerce, Cristofer Jaime, highlighted that "we have collaborated hand in hand with the La Gavia Association to carry out this fair of opportunities, as one more action to promote commerce in our municipality, in this case, through the drive-in financing ".

Playgrounds Reopening

From this Friday the playgrounds of the municipality of Tuineje reopen after having been closed with the declaration of the state of alarm on March 14.

This Saturday the Government of the Canary Islands announced the decree that regulates the new normality in the archipelago and that contemplates the opening of this type of space for the leisure of the little ones.

The Tuineje City Council has been disinfecting the parks again throughout these days "to offer guarantees, although the most important thing is always the individual responsibility and the commitment of the companions of the minors to respect the security measures", has the councilor of Parks, Vicente García pointed out.

Tuineje is taking steps, thus, towards a so-called new normality. In this sense, the mayor Esther Hernández has pointed out that "we are working on the reopening of more public spaces, but we want to do it well, without rushing and in a staggered manner, intensifying the disinfection work and insisting on the importance of the responsibility of each one of us".

The municipal government has installed signage in the municipal parks remembering the physical distance measures, the mandatory use of a mask from 6 years and the recommendation of periodic hand hygiene.

The City Council will continue with the disinfection and cleaning work on playgrounds, but also on those busiest public spaces.

Phase 3 - Starts 7th June 2020

The  BOE  published this Saturday the measures for the zones that pass to  Phase 3  and that were announced last Thursday by both the Health Minister  Salvador Illa  and Fernando Simón, director of the Center for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies of the Ministry of Health.

In this phase of de-escalation, as stated in the BOE, no time slot will be reserved for any group. In the case of  social contact with people who are among the groups considered vulnerable to COVID-19 , extreme security and hygiene measures must be taken.

Meetings

The Ministry of Health already speaks of groups of 20 people. There are no time slots reserved for any group, so it is specified that if there is "social contact with people who are among the groups considered vulnerable to COVID-19, extreme security and hygiene measures must be taken."

Wake

The capacity of the wake is 50 people outdoors and 25 indoors. In cremations and burials the limit will also be 50 people.

Wedding

Weddings can be held with a maximum capacity of 75% up to 150 people in open places and 75 in closed.

Churches and places of worship

Phase three indicates that the ceremony venues should be limited to 75% of their allowed capacity.

Children's leisure

If they are outdoors, half the usual participants and at most 200 minors can gather. If the program is in closed spaces, the limitation is 30% or 80 participants at most, including monitors. Activities must be organized in groups of maximum 10 people.

Bars and restaurants

The terraces can occupy 75% and sit inside the bars, this phase opens the possibility that the bars can be used to consume while standing as long as customers or groups of customers can maintain a separation distance

Cultural events

Cinemas and theaters must continue to pre-allocate seats and their capacity becomes 50% of the usual capacity. In outdoor shows, such as a concert, the maximum is 800 people (or half the capacity allowed).

Gyms

Phase 3 allows groups of up to 20 people and always with a capacity limited to half and the use of changing rooms and showers is already allowed.

Zoos, aquariums, recreation centers, casinos and betting shops open

These types of facilities can reopen their activity with up to 50% of their total capacity and a third of the attractions and closed places on the premises.

Trade advance: common areas of shopping centers 

The maximum capacity of the stores is 50% of the usual as long as the safety distance is ensured. The common areas of the shopping malls can be reused also with the space limitation to half and 50% of the outdoor market stalls can be installed, that is, the markets

Still unable to travel interprovincially

As has been repeated, you can only travel between provinces when both the place of origin and destination are already in 'new normal', that is, they have completed the de-escalation

Vista Mar Community Pool

The VM pool will open at the usual times from Monday if, as expected we move to phase 2. You have to keep 2 meters away from people who are not close family. There will be disinfectant gel at the entrance to wash your hands and a trash bin with a pedal opening to throw away disposable material. Capacity is limited to the government % directions.

Thus, any type of mask that covers the nose and mouth should be used, but gives preference to hygienic or surgical ones. These two types are recommended in healthy people or people infected or with symptoms, respectively, as explained by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.

Of course, there are exceptions: it will not be compulsory for people under six years of age, people with respiratory difficulties that may be aggravated by the use of the mask, when it is contraindicated for other justified health reasons, disabled or dependents with conduct disorders that prevent their use, development of activities that, by their very nature, prevent their use and the generic "force majeure or need situation".

And what activities prevent its use? The rule is not more specific at this point, but it does give an example in the preamble: the intake of food or drinks. And, yes, it would include in this exception, for example, actors in a filming, whose exemption was already contemplated in the order of phase 1 that resumed these activities. However, it does not clarify whether certain sports, such as running, are among the exceptions.

Re-Opening of Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura

Next Friday, May 22, Oasis Market, the agro-artisan market of Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura, reopens its doors from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., after more than two months of forced closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, where visitors will be able to purchase products from first hand without intermediaries. Oasis Market changes its activity from Sunday to Friday in this new stage.

This has been agreed by the management of Oasis Wildlife and those responsible for Public Health of the City of Pájara, in the meeting held this morning by both organizations, and in which all sanitary security measures have been addressed to guarantee the health of both farmers and artisans as customers. For this, the capacity will be delimited; paths will be established, both entry and exit; and the posts will be located linearly separated by a transit route and with a minimum distance of six meters and a minimum lateral separation of 2.5 meters. In addition, the products will be handled only by the merchants, always with masks and gloves. Returns of purchased items will not be allowed during this period.

Card payment will also be promoted and all surfaces will be continuously disinfected. Oasis Market, which will be accessed through the Garden Center area, has a large free parking for customers, which will facilitate transportation to it.

With the opening of the Market, Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura recovers a social project that began in 2009, to help local producers overcome the economic crisis. Then, the management of the center made its facilities available to the sector, reaffirming its support for actions to promote the primary sector as a tourist resource. Thus, all farmers and artisans who demand it, have a sales area in the Oasis Market, where they can expose their products for free every week. This action is a way of helping and promoting the culture of Fuerteventura.

"Today, what started as a space with six stalls, has become an authentic enclave of first-hand articles, where more than 80 local producers and artisans have a promotional space where people go every weekend", Guacimara Cabrera, manager of Oasis Wildlife, pointed out, “Now, with this opening, they will have the opportunity to start making up for lost time, in which many of them have tried to adapt to home sales, without success, due to the lack of trading platforms.

Over the past two months, local producers have been "seriously harmed" by the confinement due to the Coronavirus pandemic in our country, which has caused situations of great difficulty for many of them who will now have a space to the sale.

Phase 2 - Starts May 25th

This Saturday the BOE has published the conditions for the  reopening of shopping centers and parks to the public in Phase 2 , a stage that Fuerteventura will initially enter from May 25.

In order for them to open, the following conditions must be guaranteed:

a) That, in accordance with the capacities determined in the Self-Protection Plan of each center or commercial park, the total capacity of the same be limited to thirty percent of their common areas.

b) That the capacity in each of the commercial establishments located in them be limited to forty percent.

c) The permanence of clients in common areas will not be allowed except for the mere transit between commercial establishments.

The provisions of the preceding paragraph shall not apply to the hotel and restaurant activity that takes place in said common areas, which shall comply with the provisions of chapter IV.

d) The use of recreational areas such as children's areas, toy libraries or rest areas is prohibited, and must be closed.

e) That the hygiene measures established in this chapter for retail establishments and premises are complied with, in addition to the specific ones established in article 17.
