Arena Negra Festival
It appears there are two extra dates being added (9th & 10th) to the Arena Negra Festival in Gran Tarajal in November.
English translation of the article via Microsoft Translate:
Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), 26 Sep (EFE).-The Catalan duo Estopa, formed by the brothers David and Jose Muñoz, will headline the poster of the first edition of the Black Sand Festival of Gran Tarajal, to be held on 9 and 10 November, as announced by the Town Hall of Tuineje (Fuerteventura).
The creators of the "Rumba scoundrel", a mixture of rumba, rock and pop, will rise to the stage of the beach of Gran Tarajal willing to show that they still have the same strength as 19 years ago, when they debuted with their first big hit, the "slit of your skirt" , they anticipate the organizations of the festival.
At present, the Muñoz brothers are preparing a new studio album, the twelfth, with which they will celebrate their 20 years of musical career, in which they have collaborated with artists of the stature of Joaquín Sabina, Joan Manuel Serrat, Macaque, Rosario Flores or Rozalén.
The performance of Estopa will be the only possibility to see the group in the Canary Islands this year and the last of the five concerts that the group has arranged for this year, being all in large format festivals, as the last made in the "Starlite" of Marbella.
The organization of the Arena Negra Festival is working to close another headline, which will act on Friday 9th, with the Estopa concert set for Saturday, November 10th.
The first black sand Cultural Festival of Gran Tarajal is organized by the City Council of Tuineje and has economic support from the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Government of the Canary Islands.

Hotel could commence building in 2020
Looks like the hotel on the beach by Vista Mar could be commencing building in 2020. From what I have gathered (by copying the text into Microsoft translate) is that there’s also going to be a second hotel down at the other end of Gran Tarajal I presume this is down near the football stadium area.

According to the forecast, the works of the promenade, which already have coast authorization, the refurbishment of the beach and the works of the hotel could start within one year
In order to revive the municipal economy promoting a quality and sustainable tourism with the environment, the Town council of Tuineje has culminated these days the last necessary paperwork before the General Directorate of Coasts so that the hotel envisaged in the Aceitún begins to be a reality in 2020. According to the promoters of this hotel, two requirements have to be met to finally promote the works: the coastal front of the Aceitún has a promenade and has a beach equipped for bathing and complementary services.
The Maritime Promenade Project already has the authorization of coasts and would cover from the pier to the Laja located in the West Zone. With respect to the conditioning of the beach, after several meetings and corrections of the initial project, the corrected project "has already been sent to Costas for approval and authorization. This action will allow us to have a beach more accessible to the bathroom, as well as seasonal services and nautical sports with which we have not counted to date. We are talking, in short, of generating employment, "explains Vicente Garcia, Tuineje's Council of beaches.
The future hotel of the Aceitún is included in a mixed partial Plan, since the western part of the same one is enabled for the tourist activity. The urban front of the partial Plan is about half a kilometer and, having already been received by the City Council, offers legal certainty to investors who want to bet to establish there. "We have worked hard to bring the hotel forward because there is a lot of interest on our part, as a means to revive the economy in the municipality, and on the part of investors, who not only see the lace of the Aceitún in the international market, but It is a land that offers enormous legal certainty, "says the mayor of Tuineje, Sergio Lloret.
Once the beach project has already entered the official process, the forecasts are that in one year they could start in parallel the works in the Aceitún: those of the Promenade, the beach conditioning and the execution of the hotel. "Within a year we could be talking about the start of the hotel's work," says Lloret, who says "We are aware of the importance of the hotel for the generation of employment and the recovery of the commercial fabric of the municipality, as has happened in the Playitas ".

Gym & Pool access cards
The electronic cards for the pool and gym are available now and can be collected from the maintenance team. You will need to sign for the cards on collection.
Each property gets 2 cards which are numbered and registered to that property.
For the next week the gates will still work with both key and card.
Owners who are not around can authorise another owner to collect his card and keep it for them till they arrive, or put it in their property when needed.
Owners who have visitors staying must inform the visitors that these cards have a value of €25,00 so if a card is lost they need to provide this amount before the new card can be activated.
If you would like to authorise another owner to collect your cards on your behalf, please write an email so it can be shown to the maintenance team and the card can be collected in your name.

events that are happening in and around Gran Tarajal and the island of
Fuerteventura.
Most of my information on events come from sources that I follow
on Facebook, so if you do have a Facebook account be sure to give them a Like
because without them this page would be empty.
So, credit where credit is due! Here are some of the sources I use
(I may have forgotten some):
SunnyFuerteventura.com

Noticias Fuerteventura
I am not on the island permanently so I do rely on external
sources for anything which is happening, so feel free to let me know if you
know of any upcoming events.
