As Spain, including the Canary Islands, is under a State of Alarm there are a lot of restrictions in place to restrict movement. The general advice is to stay at home.
A translation of the Real Decree published in the Official Bulletin about the Alarm State with all restrictions;
7. Limitation of Freedom of Circulation of People
During the period of State of Alarm people only can be in the public streets for the purpose of carrying out the following activities:-
a) Purchasing food, pharmaceutical products and items of essential need.
b) To visit medical centres, services, and health establishments.
c) To go to place of work to carry out professional or business work.
d) Return to habitual home.
e) Assistance and care of elderly, minors, dependents, disabled people or especially vulnerable people.
f) to go to financial or insurance institutions.
g) For extreme reasons or a situation of absolute need.
h) Whatever other various important activity that needs to be done individually, especially if with a disabled person or for whatever justifiable reasons
